AMAZING Japanese Makeup Brushes: Hakuhodo

May 18, 2010 · Posted in Best Makeup Brushes

www.hakuhodousa.com (They ship worldwide) Check out the “Knowledge” section of their website that talks about the materials used, how to clean and care for the brushes, and the FAQ. Also check out the Company Outline and read their History – you will find out a lot more about Hakuhodo and see that they are a very reputable brush making company. FYI: I was assured these brushes are cruelty-free and that the animals are not harmed or killed to attain the hairs. However, if you don’t like this, please just buy synthetic brushes. If these brushes are too expensive for you, check out my other video “Cheap Brush Recommendations”. Prices: These brushes come in a wide variety of prices from affordable to very expensive. Many basic eye brushes are around and some very, very expensive brushes are close to 0. However, many of the prices are comparable to department store prices in Europe. Check out the different series, not all of them are expensive. Brushes shown in order of appearance: 1. Kokutan Finishing Brush LAG 2. S 103 Blush Brush 3. K002 Finishing Brush round and flat 4. @phosphoenolpyruvat The ‘soft blush brush’ was actually a powder brush K002.
They also have a blush brush K020 made of the same blue squirrel hair which i believe would be just as soft.

Hello! I want these brushes SO BAD. I placed my order in on March 27th, and I STILL haven’t received mine (I live in Canada). I’m pretty sure it’s lost in the mail. The people were really nice in trying to track the package, but there is nothing I or they can do. I’m SOOO bummed. I was really excited to try them out after seeing your review. Anyway, since it’s lost, I can’t get my money back, because that’s out of their control.. So I guess I won’t be trying them anytime soon… :(

i’ve checked the website and they really are pricey! i’ve also been looking around like wholesales online. do you recommend any other brand that could be affordable but also good quality?

  18. colison02 on May 18th, 2010 4:57 pm

Great video! I know that u said that these brushes r ultra soft but what about makeup application? Is the makeup application better with these brushes that with your Mac brushes? Please respond because I am thinking about buying a few of these brushes. Your videos are so informative and great to watch. Keep them coming!!!!!!

the basic ones are actually not that expensive, especially if you buy the set. i mean come on individual MAC brushes are about the same price!

I think “cruelty free” for brushes means they comb out the hair so the animal isn’t hurt or killed in the process… i read an article about it online a while back.

all you have to do is shave it and then let it go back into wild to be free to climb all the trees… but just naked.! lol.!

  22. SilkSpectre175 on May 18th, 2010 7:46 pm

i honestly CAN´T imagine that squirrel, pahmi or weasel hair is cruelty free… :( (
