What are the best drugstore makeup brushes?
May 26, 2010 · Posted in Best Makeup Brushes
I’m thinking of buying POSH, Ecotools, and this one kind that says ‘Department Store Quality!’ (I forgot the name of the brand xD)
Ohh and also,
Which brands were good/bad, and which of those brands’s brushes were good/bad?

i personally think that u get wat u pay for.. i bougt a whole set of brushes from walgreens for about $15 and its just not worth it.. they r really cheap kind.. i know sephora has some really nice brushes and so does MAC..
i receomend that if u r not willing to spend alot of money buy them from ebay.. they sell them brand new in packaging and they are the same thing that stores are selling except at lower price..
i hope that helped…
I love the Ecotools brushes.
I bought the 5 brush set (blush brush, concealer brush, eyeshadow brush, angled brush, lash/brow comb) and I think the eyeshadow and angled eyeliner brush are one of the best! The blush brush is alright, but it only works well with loose powder, not pressed powder (doesn’t pick it up or apply very well) and same story with the powder brush. The retractable kabuki is also very high quality, and same with all their brushes they are extremely soft. Haven’t used the foundation brush but I hear it’s very good but a little small, and haven’t used my concealer brush yet!
I also hear some Sonia Kashuk and ELF Studio Line brushes are good.
Go with ecotools
I have a lovely foundation brush from them and i honestly have nothing bad to say about it..and it was really cheap from priceline..$10 (australian dollars)
goodluck.
I got the ecotools set ($10 at Target) and after trying a few of the other drugstore brushes I’m amazed how excellent the quality is. They never shed bristles on my face and are super soft. I’ve had one brush for over a year and it’s still in awesome condition.
I own expensive brushes (bare minerals, estee lauder–who own mac btw– etc). After trying eco-tools, I feel like a moron.
Need I say more?
I know some people like POSH but i really wasn’t a fan.
I prefer synthetic brushes because I wash my brushes regularly and wet animal hair smells like…smelly animal. Eco-tools are well made, don’t fall apart, don’t bleed, don’t shed and there is a variety of different sets you can get. Cheapest I’ve seen themis at target. You want brushes that will be soft but also still do their job. Ecotools does that.
